Exercise

Physical activity can help increase muscle tone in the buttocks and thigh area which has a direct and beneficial effect on the skin tone. (Drs. Nurnberger and Muller)

The very best time to exercise is upon awakening in the morning to burn the extra fat stored over night. Exercising after a meal most often results in burning the meal leaving you tired for the rest of your work day unless you consume more caloric food. Wait until you have showered and prepared for work to enjoy your planned breakfast. Of course, any exercise during the day, on weekends, or at night if enjoyed is wonderful and appropriate. However, try for the 5 to 20 minutes upon arising then enjoy your coffee without high fat creamers.

Exercises that can improve muscle tone include athletics, gymnastics, bicycling, and hiking. (Drs. Nurnberger and Muller) Try to do something that you enjoy to meet your environment even if it is inside the home during a cold winter day or a balmy summer day when you do not wish to consider going outside.

A good cellulite exercise program includes a cardiovascular or aerobic exercise program (for example walking, jogging, or swimming), enhanced with an anaerobic exercise focusing on the thighs, hips, and buttocks (an example: weightlifting, yoga, or Pilates). Aerobic exercise helps to improve blood and lymphatic circulation, and results in sweating which helps detoxify the skin, and burn fat. The anaerobic exercises help to metabolize fat and turn it into muscle tissue. You can lose cellulite while gaining muscle tone.
